Hair Today: Super Shine

So I couldn't get the mix in and protein conditioner this weekend so I decided to experiment. I know...haven't I learned my lesson?  I was reading a post by Nadege on Relaxed Hair Health about mixing boosters into your deep conditioner.  Most of the boosters were natural ones I had around the house so I decided to be a mixologist Friday night.

Products used:
4 teaspoons Extra Light Olive Oil
4 teaspoons Honey
2 teaspoons Finesse Conditioner (I didn't have anymore deep protein conditioner)

I mixed everything together and massaged through my hair.  I left on overnight. I got a little nervous because the honey definitely made my hair alittle hard.  In the morning I rinsed first.  The masque came out pretty easy.  I shampooed with Finesse shampoo and followed up with conditioner for one minute.

I noticed right away that my hair texture felt better...softer. I also noticed when looking in the mirror that neither the color or relaxer took well in my hair.  That is actually a good thing. Less I have to cut next month to get to virgin hair.

Notice the shine?

I noticed it looked brighter but figured my hair was wet but wait a minute....here's my hair dried.

Okay wait a minute?  Maybe its the flash.

Here's another angle.

You can see here where the relaxer and color didn't really take but you can also see how shiny my hair is.

I don't blow dry my hair.  I wrap with a little Motion Wrap Lotion and cover with a scarf to air dry.  I'm not a big heat person.  I'm actually really pleased with the results and may experiment a bit more.

I keep hearing about coconut oil. I used to use hair pomade with coconut oil. Maybe I need to look into that too. I'm really surprised at how shiny this came out. I believe Nadege used coconut oil. I only had olive oil in the house.
