Waiting for the Sun to Rise: eShakti Review

A few weeks ago, I received an email from eShakti.com asking would I review a piece.  I accepted because I have been stalking their site for awhile pondering what to buy.  They sent me this dress.

1. Shipping was actually quite fast.  I believe I put my request in on the 12th and I had the dress on the 22nd.  I was surprised to see it so quickly since it was coming from overseas.  The dress was also packaged very well.  It was in a plastic bag, inside a box, inside a FedEx? bag. (It may have been DHL)
2. Before I even took the dress out of the bag, I noticed the color was an exact match to what's on the website.  Often when you purchase bright clothing online, you get the item to find its a different color.
3. After shaking out the dress, I noticed the material was great quality plus the dress is lined. **squeals** Let me tell you why this is a big deal to me.  Because I live in an ethnically diverse part of NJ that is right outside of New York City, I can get my hands on dresses like the above at local shops.  The only problem is most of the time the quality is very poor.  Materials are thin, there's no lining and you're lucky if you can wash it without shrinking.  The quality of this eShakti dress looks like it can last you a few years vs. just a season.
4. When I got home, I couldn't wait to try the dress on.  I had a feeling it might be too big from looking at it.  When selecting my dress, I opted to include my measurements.  I don't know if they made adjustments based on that but the top half will need some tailoring.  I'm sorry I couldn't get the best pictures.  I was still sick and the lighting in my apartment can be tricky.  And as much as I love you guys, I wasn't standing outside in the snow to take pictures while I have bronchitis.

Can you tell I like it?

The dress will need a little tailoring and I definitely need to invest in a good strapless bra to highlight how beautiful the dress is.  When I put it on my daughter said "Oooh Mommy you look so pretty."  And that's without makeup or styling.  I'd say that's a great vote of confidence.  I don't know where I'd wear this dress but in my mind I see myself strolling on a hot summer day, flower in my hair with "Love Is Stronger Than Pride" playing in the background.  **sigh**
